Prevention Starts With Us

Every May, there is one week dedicated to National Prevention Week (NPW). It’s a week to shine a light on addiction and how it affects one’s overall health. NPW should serve as a reminder that we all play a role in building healthier communities. Let’s continue the conversation this week and spread awareness.

What Is National Prevention Week?

NPW is dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and providing tips for prevention while also promoting mental health. It’s not just about reacting to challenges—it's about stopping them before they start. Everyone should have access to tools, resources, and support to improve their mental health. At MM Therapy, we pride ourselves on supporting individuals, and addiction is one of the many issues we specialize in.

Why Prevention Matters

Prevention is not only about the different programs that are available — it’s about people. It’s about:

  • Supporting families through communication and education

  • Starting with the youth by empowering them and teaching them about emotional maturity

  • Breaking the stigma around mental health and substance abuse

Let’s Create a Culture of Care

Prevention is not a one-time event — it’s a continuous commitment. This week, let’s take the initiative to help those who struggle with substance abuse and addiction by offering support. Remember, prevention starts with us.

If you or a loved one is struggling with substance abuse and you are open to getting the support and help you need, please fill out our contact form.
